STEP INTO THE FUTURE OF RUNNING

Shoes made for you, not someone else Start running in shoes that are tuned for your pace and designed for the way you run.

Pace is fundamental

In 2018 we pulled a team of scientists together to test our theory that running shoes tuned by pace would be much more efficient. The research proved the theory. When shoes are tuned by pace, they deliver optimized cushioning and maximized propulsion efficiency for every runner on every run.

When running, the forces generated at 5 min/mile are much greater than the forces generated at 9 min/mile. The difference is so great, in fact, that it’s impossible to make a midsole that responds correctly and efficiently to both those paces. So why aren’t today’s shoes tuned by pace? Other shoe companies want you to believe that a shoe can work equally well for every runner. Ha! They're making it easy on themselves rather than good for the runner. Personalizing running shoes by pace zone is better for cushioning and running efficiency. The revolution is coming, and it will be pace tuned.

FastPods

Impact forces are much different than propulsion forces, so each of our midsoles has two FastPods. The heel FastPod is carefully tuned to respond to the specific impact force you generate at your pace. Since it’s tuned for the way you run, you get perfect cushioning, not too hard, not too soft.

The forefoot FastPod is tuned to give you max propulsion efficiency at your pace. If a midsole is too soft for the forces generated, it’s like running on memory foam. Maybe you love running on memory foam, and who are we to get in the way of love. But in a pace-tuned Vimazi, the forefoot FastPod compresses then rebounds into place as you push off. No wasted energy.

Pace Zones

In running, a pace zone is a range of time, usually measured in minutes per mile or minutes per kilometer. Many runners try to run within a specific pace zone each day to optimize their training program.

At Vimazi, we build our shoes to respond correctly to the forces inherent within each pace zone. Each model has been tuned to respond optimally to the impact and propulsion forces produced within that pace zone. (Outside their designated pace zone, our shoes run like any other shoe.)

Forces in running are mostly created by pace, but weight also plays a lesser role. We estimate weight ranges based on gender, shoe size, and running speed. Since the forces change more dramatically at faster paces, the pace zones at faster end of the running spectrum are narrower than the pace zones for models tuned to slower paces. What's a pace-tuned running shoe?

A pace-tuned running shoe is a shoe in which the density of the midsole foam has been adjusted to react most efficiently to the forces you create while running within a specific pace zone. Pace-tuning is a way of personalizing performance and optimizing cushioning for every runner.
