MORE ABOUT VIMAZI

Here’s what we do and why you should care
We engineer shoes to respond to the needs of your body. Specifically, Vimazi shoes address the sharp jolts that can damage your tendons and joints. When you reduce stress, you minimize the jolts that cause damage.

The physics of Bio-Logic™ Technology. Back in 2017, while Vimazi CEO Scott Tucker was running to his 6am interval workout, he had an idea. Since tendons have a necessary fragility, shoes should be there to protect tendons. Anyone who has ever had tendonitis or chronic joint pain knows how important this is. It is why we enjoy cushioned shoes.

It took three years to fully understand the physics of human running and how the forces are related to pace, cadence, weight, and strike pattern. It turned out to be supremely difficult and he had to first unlearn the thinking of biomechanists before he could apply the thinking of modern physics. Once he solved the problem, he found that his calculated predictions exactly match experimental data. In other words, we figured out what others have missed.

The problem with previous gen walking and running shoes
Most running shoes have the same foam density from heel to toe, which makes them very soft in the forefoot. A Soft Forefoot Midsole (SFM) can spell trouble for knees and ankles. Runners often avoid shoes that are too soft, because they feel mushy and unstable. Therefore, most previous gen shoes compromise by making the whole shoe a little firmer. But that creates new problems! Now the heel is too hard to adequately cushion impact shock and the forefoot is too soft to protect the knees side to side. On top of that, other shoes have a heel shape that is too sharp, adding massive stress to the foot and ankle.

The Vimazi solution
Our solution to this unhappy outcome was to create something that's never been done before—tune the midsole to counteract these problems.

Whether you are walking or running, you want to minimize the jolt at every step so that it doesn't accumulate into an injury. For the concrete jungle we live it, that means wearing Vimazi.
